FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP
Florida State football started its fall camp today. The Seminoles added several players on the roster via the transfer portal and recruiting ranks, as well as acquiring coaches for its staff.
One of the assistants that I am excited about is defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, who is replacing the all-time great Odell Haggins (he is still on the support staff). He has talent at his disposal, with transfers such as James Williams, Deante McCray, Deamontae Diggs, and Jayson Jenkins.
The Seminoles are breaking the curse of legendary head football coach Nick Saban, saying that they have one of the best defensive lines in the country. Unfortunately, that did not happen as pass rushers Marvin Jones Jr. and Patrick Payton underperformed.
TERRANCE KNIGHTON
Coach Terrance Knighton came from the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where they had a productive defense under coordinator Tony White. They are reunited in Tallahassee once again as the Seminoles look to impose their will on opposing quarterbacks.
Knighton seems to be a vocal instructor on the gridiron as Florida State conducted its practice in the afternoon sun. Most fans know that the Florida heat can be deadly, where hydration could be an issue.
Disclaimer: Don't tell former head football coach Willie Taggart about the hydration issue, though...

In the video above, you can see that Coach Knighton is getting after his players for being tired in the heat. When adversity strikes during the Alabama Crimson Tide season opener, the defensive line could be tasked with making a stop to give the offense another opportunity to score.
Coach Knighton could be a meteorologist in disguise as he talks about the weather. In all seriousness, though, I love that he is emphasizing the importance of determination even in the most adverse situations. The Seminoles will need that hard level of coaching this season.
