At this point, FSU fans have gotten used to Mekhi Williams' wandering eye, so a spring visit to Nebraska is greeted with little more than a sigh.
Williams, a four-star safety from the Tampa suburbs, has used the last few months to see a lot of different programs and at times it looked like his commitment to the Seminoles was in question. But we've made it all the way to March and Williams is still in the class. However, Williams is still on the road and snapped a photo with Huskers coach Matt Rhule for all to see.

Not much you can take out of this photo other Rhule is really happy and kind of short (he's listed at 5-foot-6). Williams has been all over the place during this period of recruiting, so there's no reason to think that one spring visit is going to be any more impactful than the next. There's no word that the blue-chip defensive back has scheduled an official visit to Nebraska either.
What's next with Mekhi Williams' recruitment?
Williams is going to be in Tallahassee at some point this spring and his name is marked down as an expected visitor on March 28 when FSU holds its 'Legacy Day'. There are also some rumblings that Williams might get to Auburn sooner than later, and the Tigers could be a threat, since there's likely a previous relationship between Williams and Alex Golesh from the Auburn coach's time with USF.Â
There aren't many dates left for Williams to take official visits over the summer. He's scheduled for his official in Tallahassee during the first weekend of June. He goes to Maryland on May 29, Wisconsin on June 12 and Miami on June 19. The dead period starts from June 22 until the end of July, so it's likely that any additional official visits will happen during the season.Â
Williams feels like a fairly solid commitment even with all the visits to other programs. I think he's looking to see what FSU football is going to do this year before making any sudden moves. Williams is one of five commits in the Seminoles' 2027 class, and he's been pledged to FSU for over a year.
