Florida State basketball (13-13, 6-7 ACC) has a solid shot to improve its ACC record from a year ago in Luke Loucks first season as a college head coach. The remarkable aspect is that the ACC is arguably better and deeper overall than it was last season.
FSU finished its 2024-25 season with a (17-15, 8-12 ACC) record in Leonard Hamilton’s final season. They made the ACC Tournament as the No. 11 seed, losing to No. 14-seeded Syracuse.
Florida State basketball has opened some eyes over the past month
Florida State has five ACC games remaining, with three on the road, starting with the Clemson Tigers. FSU will host the rival Miami Hurricanes before traveling for back-to-back road games against Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. They’ll close out the regular season hosting SMU.
FSU has already beaten Miami and will likely be betting favorites against Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. FSU lost to SMU on the road by three points a few weeks ago.
If FSU can take care of Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, and either beat Miami again, beat Clemson, or avenge the close loss against SMU. They will finish at least .500 in the ACC, which is much better than a year ago.
Luke Loucks has Florida State playing like one of the better teams in the conference, and they could sneak their way to a single digit seed in the ACC Tournament, depending on how the rest of the games finish. FSU has its best recruiting class since 2021 on the way and the expectations have gotten higher now that FSU has played much better over the past 8-10 games.
Could FSU win a game or two in the ACC Tournament?
