Hopefully, Fraser can stay in the starting lineup and provide some much needed offense.

Florida State baseball ended a four-game losing streak with a 9-2 win over the Stetson Hatters on Tuesday night. It was a nice positive after a week of agony for fans, as the team has been searching for answers on offense. There have been several players thrust into the lineup at different times, but there hasn’t been much consistency.

However, one player that fans have constantly asked about is Gabe Fraser. Where has Gabe Fraser been? That’s a great question. Fraser had his last start against Jacksonville on March 3rd. He appeared as a sub against NC State on March 20th, against Duke on March 27th, and against Florida on April 7th.

Whatever Gabe Fraser did to get taken out of the lineup, hopefully, it's a thing of the past and Fraser can flourish.

It wasn’t until Tuesday night that Fraser made his first start since the Jacksonville game. He started at shortstop and went  1-3, with a walk and a strikeout. He also drove a pitch into deep center field for an out, but ultimately, looked comfortable at the plate and took pitches well.  He had a fielding opportunity on defense and made the play.

It’s in limited action, but Fraser is batting .300 and has a .420 on-base percentage. He hasn’t hit for much power, but he hasn’t been an automatic out. He is also a threat to steal while on the bases, and gives Florida State another left-handed bat in a lineup that’s fairly right-handed dominant. Another important note is he performed well at the plate against Michigan and Auburn, two of the better teams he’s played against.

It was a good sign to see Fraser in the lineup on Tuesday night, and hopefully, whatever reasons he was held out of the lineup are a thing of the past.

If he’s back in the starting lineup against Notre Dame this weekend, he could be an important piece down the stretch to help the FSU offense be more potent.
