Florida State knows how important money is as one of the youngest universities operating and competing at the highest levels. The Florida State fanbase is relatively young compared to most well-established universities like Michigan, Alabama, Texas, Notre Dame, and others.
That’s what makes Florida State’s three national championships in football, and several in other sports, all the more impressive. However, the ACC has fallen behind the B1G and SEC over the past decade when it comes to media rights, and that has become reflected in the caliber of players signed by schools in those conferences and the caliber of coaches.
It’s one of the main reasons Florida State sued the ACC a few years ago, and it looks poised to leave the conference in the next couple of years when the time is right.
In the meantime, Florida State is turning over every rock and shaking out every sofa cushion when it comes to fundraising. The stadium renovations have created some opportunities to generate revenue streams through concerts or attractions like the Savannah Bananas.
However, Florida State has partnered with local businesses to generate a sustainable revenue stream. However, the arm of Seminole Boosters remains another way for the university to raise money, and they added a face that will be familiar to most Florida State fans. Legendary Florida State quarterback, Jordan Travis:

How Effective Will This Move Be For Florida State?
Travis is former player beloved by most Florida State fans, who played recently enough that he'll bring some star power to the organization. He's a supporter of Mike Norvell and understands that funds play a big role in acquiring talent. I'm sure he'll work hard in the role, but ultimately, the deciding factor will be how much progress Florida State shows on the field this year.
If the continue to stink it up? Fans are not going to give like they would if the program was competing for conference and national titles. It's a cool move in theory, but it's likely not a move that will generate extra millions just by hiring Jordan Travis.
