It seems like an eternity ago when the Florida State Seminoles hoisted the BCS National Championship Trophy after their 34-31 victory over the Auburn Tigers in 2013. However, I guess it is better than the Miami fan base, where they have to insert a VHS tape to watch their highlights from their last championship.
Former head coach Jimbo Fisher had a remarkable roster during the 2012 season, but that heartbreaking loss to North Carolina on the road hurt their chances of competing for a national championship. With that said, in 2013, the program came back for revenge as redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston was chosen to be the guy under center.
Winston was a coveted five-star prospect in the 2012 cycle that Coach Fisher secured away from the state of Alabama. It was a huge recruiting victory for the Seminoles. It was difficult to live up to the expectations of coming after veteran EJ Manuel, who had a solid career with Florida State and was a first-round draft pick.
However, Winston proved that he was worth the hype.
Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston gets disrespected on yet another list
Fans thought that there would be growing pains for the redshirt freshman. The Seminoles opened up the 2013 campaign on the road against Pittsburgh. However, Winston completed 25 of his 27 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns with one rushing touchdown in a 41-13 victory (according to ESPN Stats and Information).
This was the start of something special for the Hueytown, Alabama, native who ended up winning the Heisman Trophy. With that said, he was a polarizing figure in college sports, where either people hated or loved him.
Winston finished his collegiate career with Florida State, where he finished 7,964 yards and 65 touchdowns with 28 interceptions. He also had 285 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground (via ESPN Stats and Information).

Jameis Winston has been getting disrespected as of late, as he was not included in the Heisman Trophy House. Fans love Winston's commentary on FOX Sports as they think he will be a future star in the business when he finishes his NFL career.
The list is so disrespectful since Winston is listed at No. 17. I didn't expect Baker Mayfield to be listed as the top option. This isn't to say that Winston should be number one, but I thought around 10 or 11 would be fair.
