Former FSU football quarterback Jameis Winston has his name etched all throughout the history and record books at Florida State University. He was a Heisman Trophy winner, Consensus All-American, ACC Player of the Year, National Champion, No. 1 overall draft pick of the NFL, and several other awards that would take too long to name.
However, he can add one more to the distinguished list, and that’s the FSU Hall of Fame. Winston posted a video on his social media account late Thursday night showing gratitude for being chosen to join the FSU Hall of Fame.
At Florida State, if we gonna do it then, we do it big then. I am so happy and grateful to be going into the FSU Hall of Fame. Noles forever! @Seminoles @FSUFootball pic.twitter.com/fsw3qsOhfl

Winston is more than deserving of the recognition for his play on the football field. He was 26-1 as a starter. However, most folks forget he was a dual-sport athlete at FSU, a pitcher and outfielder for the FSU baseball team during his time in Tallahassee for Coach Mike Martin Sr.
He had a career 1.94 ERA in 60.1 innings and 41 games. Winston struck out 52 batters and only had 19 walks. He only allowed one home run in his college career, and opposing batters only hit .148 against him.
That's not bad for a guy who was the starting quarterback at a major football powerhouse and couldn't devote 100 percent of his time to baseball.
Winston has always shown love to his alma mater and has visited many times since leaving FSU after the 2014 season. His younger brother is a 2026 commit to Mike Norvell as a wide receiver, so we’ll likely see more of Winston in Tallahassee in the future.
Congrats Jameis, he'll always be of the first to come to mind when you talk about the greats of FSU's past.
