This is a move that I didn’t see happening several weeks ago. However, the closer we get to signing day, the more it looks like a talented player with ties to FSU could join the 2026 recruiting class.
The younger brother of FSU legendary quarterback Jameis Winston, Jonah, received a prediction from respected recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong on Wednesday.
If Winston committed to the Noles, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise at this point. He posted a video on social media recently, that he would announce his commitment on August 30th.
It just so happens that he’ll be in Tallahassee on that date for the Florida State vs. Alabama game. I’m not the smartest guy, but to be sure, he wouldn’t announce a decision to commit anywhere else while in Tallahassee or on the way to the game.
The only thing that gave me pause on FSU accepting a commitment from Winston several weeks ago was that he never took an official visit over the summer, and FSU already has five wide receiver commits.
This likely means FSU could lose one of those commits at some point. FSU commit Jansen Lopez from South Florida would be a candidate since he made a statement shortly after committing about not shutting down his recruitment. Efreem White is another who has flirted with schools since committing to FSU.
Lopez, White, and Winston are more on the smaller side, so there isn’t too much of a difference between the three. Winston had a huge touchdown play last week against IMG Academy on national TV.

Winston will be one of many talented players visiting to see the FSU vs. Alabama matchup. Here's to hoping the Noles can pull off the upset or keep it close as big betting under
