If there's a player in the NFL more comfortable in thetr own skin than Jamies Winston, I dare you to find him.
Winston, a former No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, has settled comfortably into his second act as an entertaining NFL veteran. Whether he's on the field or bringing smiles to kids' faces during a community outreach trip to Rwanda or in his howrtown of Hueytown, Alabama, Jameis is living his best life.
So, with Giants training camp in full motion, it's only natural that many eyes are on Jameis despite his projected backup role on the team. And as only he can do, Jameis is giving the fans what they want. He looks like he's dropped a few pounds and wanted to show everyone that he's still got the moves when he kept the ball on this simple read option.

Jameis' option skills, which may or may not rival peak Michael Vick, are only one element of the Jameis experience. He's a veteran in the league, and he wants to leave a positive impression wherever he is. That's why he's doing the extra work with Malik Nabers and giving the fans a taste of what might be when he dumps a pass off to Cam Skattebo and the rookie bruiser runs it in for a touchdown.
Sometimes the most valuable thing a veteran can bring to a new team is a sense of comfort. The Giants have to be comfortable with Jameis' ability to serve as a capable backup to projected starter Russell Wilson. And Jameis has the ability to make the players comfortable around him, while also making them laugh hysterically.

"He has the most unique balance I've ever seen of light but serious," Giants teammate Darius Slayton said of Winston. "He's very serious because he is a quarterback, so he's very knowledgeable. He's very serious when he needs to be serious, but at the same time he has a light energy about him, so it keeps people calm. So, it's not like you're not nervous to play with him."
At some point this season the Giants (or another team) is going to need a quarterback to get them through a tough stretch. When that time comes, Jameis is your guy!
