No. 3 Florida State soccer won its fifth national title in the past 11 years with a 1-0 victory over the No. 1 seed Stanford Cardinals on Monday night. The win avenged a home loss to the Cardinals earlier in the season.
It was a hard-fought victory with Wrianna Hudson scoring the eventual game-winner in the 87th minute. Stanford applied pressure on FSU all night, with freshman goalie Kate Ockene making save after save to keep the Noles in it.

FSU soccer has become a dynasty with Brian Pensky picking up where Mark Krikorian left off. Pensky has won two national titles since coming to FSU in 2022.
FSU soccer has become so dominant that Heisman Trophy and FSU football national champion quarterback Jameis Winston had to give them props on social media.
Thank you @FSUSoccer for you consistently being our best football team over the years! https://t.co/T1QWd8nHV2

It has gotten pretty bad with a former player of the stature of Jameis Winston taking a shot at the FSU football program. He's not lying though. However, five national titles since FSU football won its last one in 2013?
FSU soccer played for a national title in 2013 and 2020. They have made nine NCAA Tournament College Cups since 2013 and either won or played for the National Title seven times since then.
FSU football hasn't made the College Football Playoffs Jameis Winston led an undefeated FSU football program to the Rose Bowl against Oregon. If anyone is qualified to speak on the state of the FSU football program, it's Jameis Winston. Here's to hoping this FSU soccer magic can rub off on the FSU football team moving forward.
