Florida State football lost to arch-rival Florida by a score of 40-21 to end their 2025 campaign. This was a disappointment since the Seminoles started the year with a 3-0 record, which included a victory over Alabama in the opener.
The defense matched their physicality and aggression, where the fan base thought that defensive coordinator Tony White could be in play for other jobs. Then the UCLA position opened up, and this was Coach White's alma mater, so the interest was there.
The hesitation from the fan base was real because the Seminoles didn't want to have to replace him after he has only coached halfway through his first year. However, his defense hit a wall as it got into conference play, where the fan base wanted him to leave Tallahassee because they didn't believe in the 3-3-5 scheme (it's funny how quickly individuals can change their mind).
Coach White doesn't have to worry about the Bruins' job anymore, as UCLA is expected to hire James Madison head football coach Bob Chesney.

The Dukes have to play Troy this Friday for the Sun Belt Championship, but he looks to be ready to go to Los Angeles. In other news, Nebraska has fired defensive coordinator John Butler after one season with the Cornhuskers.

Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned that there would be changes this offseason for the Seminoles, and I wonder if moving on from defensive coordinator Tony White would be a possibility.
Coach White has only been here in Tallahassee for one season, and there are a couple of standouts on defense such as Mandrell and Darryll Desir and Shamar Arnoux. Could this be the opportunity that he needs to move back to Nebraska for the same position that he had last season, or will Florida State keep him around?
