If you went to bed early on the East Coast on Wednesday night, you missed Florida State softball taking its offense to the West Coast to dominate Santa Clara 11-3 to extend its winning streak to 25 games.
It was the first of four games on the opposite coast, as the Noles will play No. 23 Stanford in a three-game ACC series beginning on Friday.
FSU superstar shortstop Isa Torres continued her torrid pace, going 4-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. She entered the game batting .610 and improved to .624. Do you know how insane it is to get four hits in a game and only see your batting average increase by 14 points?
She just keeps doing what she does🔥🔥🔥

FSU offense continues to chew up mediocre teams, but it will be interesting to see how they do when the competition gets better.
The Noles scored seven runs in the first inning, and that’s all freshman Bella Dimitrijevic would need in the circle. She allowed two hits, an unearned run, zero walks, and struck out one batter in three innings. Jazzy Francik, Makenna Reid, and Marlee Gaskell pitched the other three innings.
One thing to note is that Florida State uncharacteristically had three errors in the game, entering the contest among the best defensive teams nationally.
FSU will face its toughest challenge in nearly two months when they face the Stanford Cardinals. Stanford is fifth in the ACC standings with a (23-12, 9-6 ACC) record. They are solid offensively, but their pitching is probably their biggest weakness, with a combined staff ERA of 4.00. They have a .966 fielding percentage, which is serviceable.
Friday’s game will start at 9 p.m ET and will air on ESPN2.
