Florida State has got twenty prospects to sign in its 2025 recruiting class during the Early Signing Period. This was surprising since the Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record last year.

Head football coach Mike Norvell knew that things needed to change within the university to get Florida State hoist championship trophies yet again. One aspect that will be vitally important is recruiting and developing talent, especially in the offensive and defensive trenches.

Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins was relieved of his duties after he had not developed much talent and utilized the transfer portal all too often. The Seminoles decided to hire former UCF offensive line coach Herb Hand to man the position group.

Coach Hand went to the transfer portal to fill quick holes in the room with veteran talent such as offensive tackle Micah Pettus, offensive tackle Gunnar Hansen, and interior offensive lineman Adrian Medley. However, fans should not forget that the Seminoles have signees such as four-star offensive tackle Mario Nash Jr. and three-star interior offensive lineman Sean Poret.

Overall, Florida State lost commitments from five-star Solomon Thomas (LSU), four-star Peyton Joseph (Georgia Tech), and three-star Daniel Pierre-Louis (Florida), likely because of Atkins's firing and the uncertainty of being developed by Hand, given that they were not recruited by him.

It looks like the Seminoles are not finished yet, as Class of 2025 four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown from Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia, is considering Florida State.

It makes sense that Brown would be heavily considering the Seminoles since he used to be a UCF commit before Gus Malzahn and Herb Hand went to Florida State. The talented offensive tackle has a 6'7" frame, but he is only listed at 270 pounds. However, he could be a good prospect to groom and develop into something special (think about the frame of Lucas Simmons).

I hope that the offensive lineman signs with Florida State in February.
