If 'done' is a vibe on social media, then that's Florida State fans right now

Another lost season comes to an end

The only bowling FSU will be doing this season is at District 850.

Whatever "improvements" the Seminoles can take from a 5-7 season will be hollow after they got worked 40-21 by a Gators team that had just three wins coming into Saturday. The defense, which had been showing signs of life over the past few weeks, got punished by Jaden Baugh and the Gators offensive line.

It's the fourth losing campaign in six years under Mike Norvell, who will be back next season. FSU was shut out for most of the second half against a team that gave up 30 or more points in each of the past three games.

And the good news is, FSU fans have another year of this to look forward to.

Frustrated fans just want the nightmare to end

The futility that FSU has shown over the past two seasons is staggering. The Seminoles are 7-17 over that stretch and 0-10 in games on the road or at a neutral site. FSU is 0-6 against their rivals Florida, Miami and Clemson and 3-13 in the ACC.

This season started out promising with a shocking 31-17 win over Alabama that had everyone thinking FSU was back, but a four-game losing streak in the middle of hte season ended those thoughts. But Saturday was the kicker with Baugh gaining 266 yards on the soft Seminoles defense.

This was an opportunity for Norvell to make the FSU fans feel some level of optimism about the decision to keep him around and, instead, they are left wondering if things could get much worse and, if so, how much worse they will get. Florida didn't even have a real coach going into the game and had no hope of reaching a bowl, yet they looked more prepared and motivated to play.

There's little chance that the decision to retain Norvell will be reversed, but FSU athletic director Michael Alford should probably not answer his phone for a few days because I can't imagine any high-level supporter of the program is happy with these results.
