Florida State football did not have an amazing offensive unit in 2024, where it was regarded as one of the worst in all of college football. As a result, the Seminoles hired former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn as its offensive coordinator.
Coach Malzahn's offenses are known for their ability to run the football. I even discussed the similarities between Nick Marshall at Auburn and Thomas Castellanos at Florida State.
While he had a top-ten rushing attack with the Knights last year, the Seminoles do not have a proven back who has shown that they have what it takes to get 1,000+ yards (even though I am high on the players in that position room).
With a run-first offense, some fans question the passing ability of Thomas Castellanos. The truth of the matter is that the Seminoles added talented playmakers via the transfer portal, such as USC's Duce Robinson and Tennessee's Squirrel White.
I believe that Robinson has a realistic chance to be a number one wide receiver option.
