It’s amazing to know that FSU softball has already played 21 games through one month of play. They played the first six games without star outfielder Kennedy Harp, as she awaited a full release from the FSU medical staff to return to action after being out since last year’s season-ending injury late in the season.
Harp first appeared as a pinch hitter in her first few appearances before getting her first start against Elon. She walked twice, scored a run, and struckout once in her first start. However, it didn’t take long for her return to the lineup to make a significant impact:

Florida State could be a different offense with a healthy Kennedy Harp back in the lineup against the better teams they'll face
All of this production has happened in the past five games. It’s even better timing since Isa Torres has missed the last few games with an injury.
Harper was one of the best players in the nation before her injury last year. She was batting .412 with nine home runs, 49 RBI, and a .492 on-base percentage. She led the team in slugging percentage, was second in hits and runs scored, and second with 15 steals.
Florida State has five more non-conference games before entering ACC play, before hosting Syracuse in mid-March. The Orange haven’t been anything special in recent years, so that’s more time for Harper to find her form from last year.
The FSU offense hasn't been clicking on all cylinders in the early part of the season. They've look inept against the teams with elite pitching, but Harper's return will help bolster the lineup as the young freshmen continue to gain experience. Once Torres returns, Harper, Jaysoni Beachum, Marin Heller, Anna Hinde, Ashtyn Danley, and Makenna Sturgis should form a formidable lineup.
FSU will return to action on Wednesday afternoon as the Noles host the Jacksonville Dolphins at 4 p.m. The game will air on the ACCNX channel.
