FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State football currently has the ninth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles have been red-hot during June, where they have secured twelve commitments in the month.
This was something that the Seminole fan base was not expecting since the program had a 2-10 record in 2024. It is unacceptable for a Florida State program that has an expectation of securing a conference and a national championship.
Nonetheless, individuals have been wanting Norvell to recruit like this for highly-touted high school prospects since he arrived at Florida State. While the 2025 recruiting class finished in the top twenty, this could have been swayed by the "new car smell" of the coaching staff that was recently hired.
TARGET GOING ELSEWHERE
Florida State's coaching staff has done a tremendous job of acquiring talented playmakers around four-star quarterback commit Jaden O'Neal. The Seminoles have a dynamic rusher in Amari Thomas with receivers such as Brandon Bennett, Devin Carter, Efrem White, Darryon Williams, and Xavier Tiller.
Even though White officially visited the Seminoles for a visit last weekend, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are contending for his services. We at ChopChat were informed by the pass catcher that he is likely taking a trip to Tallahassee for the Alabama season opener.
All four of the wide receivers that are committed to the Seminoles have the same frame (6'0" or 6'1"). Florida State might entertain the idea of having a wide receiver with more size. One target that they were going after is four-star Madden Williams (Texas A&M commitment), as he shut down his recruitment.

I am so excited to play the EA Sports College Football 26 video game so that I can experience the craziness of committing and de-committing to and from a program. I guess four-star Madden Williams is happy, too, because he can finally make his quotation a reality. After all, Texas A&M hasn't won a national championship since 1939.
That sounds like Miami football fans to me.
I don't see this as a big loss at all. I think the Seminoles can start pursuing four-star Keeyun Chapman from Jackson, Alabama, who is 6'4" and 200 pounds. This would be a different style of pass catcher than they currently have in their recruiting class.
Overall, I believe that Florida State has enough wide receivers and needs to focus on getting defensive ends and offensive tackles in their recruiting class.
