OVERRATED LIKE ALWAYS
Miami football has always been a team that has been overvalued by the college football public. This isn't anything new. I guess everyone wants to see them get back to their glory days. However, every year that fan base and other individuals get reminded why they aren't "back".
Let me start by saying that I realize that Florida State football finished with a 2-10 record last year. You don't have to hit me with the "I know that you aren't talking about a rival when your team performed like that last year." I get it... It was disappointing for the Seminoles and Mike Norvell.
There are no excuses in the book that I could say to express how disappointed I was in 2024. What makes matters worse is that I have been a longtime season ticket holder at Florida State, and I had to endure watching the product on the field. Even though I bleed Garnet and Gold, I don't wish many people to go through that (I am not including Miami or Florida in that statement).
The Hurricanes were supposed to be contenders to win the national championship as they lured in top transfer quarterback Cam Ward, who performed very well. Miami finished the year with a 10-3 record, but they lost two of their final three regular-season games to ensure that they knocked themselves out of making the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoff.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL 26 VIDEO GAME HIGH ON MIAMI
The only chance that the Hurricanes have in winning the ACC and contending for the College Football Playoff is if they turn on their PlayStation/Xbox and get to work in Dynasty Mode. The EASports College Football 26 video game will be coming out in July 2025.
The social media account for the video game dropped their top ten overall offenses, and the Hurricanes were listed at the No. 10 spot.

Miami added former Georgia quarterback transfer Carson Beck, who had a significant elbow injury in the SEC Championship Game. Beck is finally back to throwing the football once again, but he will not have Isaiah Horton to throw to (56 receptions for 616 yards in 2024) as he transferred to Alabama.
I think offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa is a top-tier tackle in the country, but Beck won't have many options at his disposal with just adding CJ Daniels (42 receptions for 480 yards in 2024 at LSU). Six of their top receiving leaders statistically will have to be replaced.
They better hope that a youngster like Joshisa Trader (6 receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown in 2024) can take a big step forward in his development, so that the offense can be successful.
Just as a reminder, Miami plays Florida State on October 4th in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
