NOLES WIN!
Florida State baseball finished Sunday afternoon with a Tallahassee Regional series victory versus Mississippi State. The Seminoles went 3-0 in the series as they defeated Bethune-Cookman and then the Bulldogs twice.
While it certainly wasn't easy, head baseball coach Link Jarrett and his squad put together an exciting trio of performances. I know that this Florida State team is far from perfect, but they show resilience through difficult circumstances.
It could have been understandable to give up in the seventh inning, down by a score of 2-0 with another game guaranteed even if they lose. However, infielder Cal Fisher tied it up with a two-run home run to give the packed Dick Howser Stadium the life that it needed.
IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO TROLL THE GATORS
Florida State baseball might not have a better team than last year, which saw its hopes crushed by the Tennessee Volunteers. However, there are very talented squads suffering losses that some didn't expect.
One of those teams that did not make it was the arch-rival Florida Gators. They were expected to make a postseason run since they had so much championship experience. However, on Sunday afternoon, they were on the receiving end of an ECU 11-4 victory in the Conway Regional.
SOCIAL MEDIA FUN BY FSU FANS
Florida State baseball fans couldn't realize the thought of trolling the Gators' fan base on social media after the loss.
THOUGHTS
Overall, Florida State baseball has an opportunity to compete for that coveted first national championship in school history. That would be an amazing feat for a program with so much tradition and history.
While I find it hilarious that Florida lost, I know that Florida State has to find a way to stay focused as they enter the Super Regionals.
