Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is still climbing up the rankings, but the Seminoles need some help to land some of the highly-touted prospects, such as four-star defensive back Ta'Shawn Poole, four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune, three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis, and three-star running back Marquis Fennell.
Poole has started to pick up momentum for the Seminoles, as Noles247's Brendan Sonnone and Dawgs247's Benjamin Wolk insert predictions in favor of Florida State. This would be a major pickup for the program, as he is a top-100 prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Macon, Georgia, native officially visited the Seminoles this past weekend, and the relationship with head coach Mike Norvell has always been there. However, as we know with defensive backs Travis Hunter and KJ Bolden in the past, Florida State has not been the greatest at closing the deal.
The thought process was that Florida State and Tennessee were the top two schools for Poole's recruitment, with an early July announcement expected. The Seminoles already saw former three-star defensive back commit Dayon Cooper flip over to the Volunteers recently.
Norvell cannot allow Coach Josh Heupel to grab another talented prospect, but Florida State could have another SEC program getting involved in the recruitment late.
Four-star defensive back target Ta'Shawn Poole has a top-three schools list that features Florida State, Tennessee, and Georgia
Four-star defensive back target Ta'Shawn Poole is someone that the Seminoles need to secure in their 2027 recruiting class, especially after losing four-star Mekhi Williams to Wisconsin. Poole dropped a top-three schools list on Tuesday afternoon that featured Florida State, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Top 3… Where is home?
Commitment Soon! pic.twitter.com/mlVPcejYxd
I am personally a little bit nervous about Poole potentially officially visiting Georgia this weekend. He is a home-state kid, and the Bulldogs don't have a defensive back committed in their 2027 recruiting class.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart could be frustrated that the Seminoles grabbed four-star wide receiver target Sean Green from them after he committed to Florida State, so he could be getting some revenge on the school that he graduated from.
Florida State's front office has to find a way to close this recruitment down and get the job done. If the Seminoles want to continue competing with the "big boys," then they need to land Poole in their recruiting class.
