Florida State's women's basketball team has a 15-4 record. The Seminoles have won two in a row versus conference opponents Miami and Clemson at home.
However, Florida State is now having to go on the road to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on the No. 13 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels at noon EST on the ACC Network.
The Seminoles could be in a dangerous spot here if they are not careful. The sleepy noon tipoffs are always a matter of focus and determination. The Tar Heels have won five in a row. Their last loss came to then-No. 3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish at home by a score of 76-66. Since that point, the Tar Heels have won four of their last five games by double-digits.
Florida State will need to have their offense clicking on all cylinders. As we mentioned before, superstar guard Ta'Niya Latson will have to have herself a tremendous shooting afternoon to wheel the Seminoles to victory.
Latson scored 30 points on 10/13 shooting from the field, converting 5/5 from three-point range in the rivalry matchup versus the Miami Hurricanes at home. While I am not expecting the guard to shoot that well against a Tar Heels defense that is aggressive.
I do believe that she will have to create her shot and get her teammates involved for Florida State to have a chance. The Seminoles will travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to take on Boston College after the North Carolina game. Florida State will be back in Tallahassee for the game versus a struggling Wake Forest squad on Sunday, February 2nd at 6 PM EST on the ACC Network.
Let's be sure to cheer on our Lady Seminoles today in the big road matchup!
