I realize that the Super Bowl matchup for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles is today at 6:30 PM EST on FOX. That is something that is taking up a ton of people's attention. However, Florida State women's basketball was taking on the No.14 ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack.

The Seminoles had a 19-4 overall record (9-2 in conference), while North Carolina State had an 18-4 overall record (10-1 in conference). The Seminoles have had their way with the elite scoring ability of guard, Ta'Niya Latson, and forward Mikayla Timpson.

However, it could not have gone worse for the Seminoles at home as they lost by a score of 97-74 to the Wolfpack. One of the biggest issues in the defeat was that Florida State had 13 turnovers, and the Seminoles were only shooting 6 of 18 from three-point range.

Latson had 23 points before she fouled out in the fourth quarter, but she only shot 8 of 19 from the field and went 1 of 5 from three point. Then Timpson had 14 points and 9 rebounds and shot 6 of 15.

North Carolina State had a 7-2 run to end the first quarter to give the Wolfpack a 26-14 lead heading into the second quarter. They gave the Seminoles their first home loss of the season.

Florida State could not stop guard Aziaha James, who had 22 points, and then guard Zoe Brooks had 21 points. Every time Florida State thought they could get a defensive stop, the Wolfpack responded with a basket.

The Seminoles will now be looking to bounce back in a home matchup versus the 17-7 Louisville Cardinals on Thursday, February 13th, at 6:00 PM EST on ACC Extra.
