FSU women's sports had a massive day on the recruiting trails Friday. FSU softball flipped five-star Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, McLaine Hudson. FSU basketball scored a commitment from Missy Odom, one of the top dual-sport athletes in the 2026 recruiting class.

Odom chose the Noles over other programs like Auburn, UCF, Texas Tech, and Ohio State. The Alabama native attends Montverde Academy in Florida, a school that has produced several players for FSU sports in the past. FSU softball freshman catcher Danika Spinogatti hails from this high school.

Odom is a four-star recruit in basketball and softball, listed at 6’3” and considered the No. 21 player in the 2026 basketball recruiting class. The opportunity to play both sports in college was a factor in her recruitment, and FSU coaches have done a great job of working together to allow players with that ability to compete in dual sports over the years. Micahi Danzy and BJ Gibson are two FSU athletes who competed in two sports recently.

Odom is the third commit in Brooke Wyckoff's 2026 recruiting class, joining top 100 players Morgan Stewart and Asia Lee.

As a softball player, Odom can hit and pitch. It’ll be interesting to see what she decides to do in college. She would have amazing potential as a pitcher because of her length and size. She had a 1.90 ERA in 132.1 innings pitched during the 2023-24 season. She struck out 263 batters and only had 38 walks. She has hit ability at the plate, hitting .368 with 13 home runs in his two seasons playing softball.
