It's been more of a defensive game than expected in Ralegh tonight with N.C. State holding a 7-3 lead over FSU at halftime.
FSU has outgained N.C. State 202-160 through one half, but the Seminioles have not been efficient on the plus-side of the field, settling for a 46-yard field goal from Jake Weinberg, a missed field goal from Weinberg from 35 yards and a turnover.
The Wolfpack touchdown came on a 23-yard pass from quarterback C.J. Bailey to Terrell Anderson. It wasn't the best coverage by Jerry Wilson on the play.

Castellanos leads run-heavy FSU offense
On offense, it's been the Tommy Castellanos show as the quarterback has been the team's best rusher and playmaker. In the passing game, Castellanos is what he is at this point. He made a couple of nice deep throws that were broken up by good defensive plays, and he threw a terrible interception on what should have been a scoring drive. Some good, some bad, that's pretty much the Tommy Castellanos experience.
Since the interception, FSU has almost gone exclusively to the run game with a 17-play drive that featured 15 runs and zero points. Castellanos is 7-of-14 passing for 70 yards and a pick with 60 rushing yards on nine carries.
Roydell Williams has entered the chat
Truth be told, I forgot the transfer from Alabama was even on the team. He was ineffective and injured most of last season and has been buried on the depth chart and injured most of this season. Coming into tonight, Williams has been a complete non-factor at FSU with 33 carries for 67 yards in almost two seasons.
But Williams got the start for the injured Sam Singleton and hasn't been bad at all tonight. He has five carries for 30 yards. Does it mean anything? Not much, but good for Roydell to show us that he's still alive. Jaylin Lucas, who was averaging about three touches a game this season, has been getting a lot of backfield time as well and being used a little more as a traditional running back than a gadget player. He has three carries for 11 yards.
Again, this is going to bring into question what the deal is with Ousmane Kromah and why he isn't getting these carries. Is the coaching staff trying to send him a message? Is offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn not comfortable with his fit in the system? The freshman has one carry for two yards.
OL Richie Leonard out, WR Lawayne McCoy injured
We'll have to monitor Lawayne McCoy's status for the rest of this game and possibly next week against the Gators. McCoy was en route to having a big game, catching three passes for 45 yards in the first quarter. But on his last catch, he was hit hard by N.C. State cornerback Jackson Vick and left the game.
Starting guard Richie Leonard IV is not playing, Jacob Rizy is in and I haven't noticed too much of a difference.
