Florida State softball saw its 25-game winning streak snapped last week against Sanford, but has wasted no time starting another winning streak, clinching the series against North Carolina with back-to-back wins.
They won Saturday’s game 6-1 behind a solid start from freshman Bella Dimitrijevic and Ashtyn Danley pitching in relief. Dimitrijevic pitched the first four innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, two walks, and four strikeouts. Danley pitched the final three, allowing two hits, two walks, and four strikeouts.
The Noles wasted no time jumping out to an early lead behind a leadoff home run from Isa Torres in the bottom of the first. Bella Ruggiero hit a sacrifice fly to score Jaysoni Beachum, who had singled earlier for a 2-0 lead.

Isa Torres is still hitting near .600 with only a few more weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Noles added one more run in the bottom of the sixth when Marin Heller led off with a triple and Haley Griggs hit a sacrfice fly for the RBI.
Florida State will look for the series sweep on Sunday and try to keep pace with the Duke Blue Devils who took over first place with FSU getting swept last week.
Duke only has one ACC series remaining, as they will host the Clemson Tigers next week. FSU will finish up conference play with back-to-back road series against Georgia Tech and Boston College. The Noles should be favored to win both series, but can't afford any losses if they want secure a bid to host regionals.
Florida State also has a massive rivalry game against top 10 Florida that could help their case. However, they can't afford to look past any of the remaining ACC teams on the schedule and should take it one game at a time.
