FSU softball (5-1) blasted No. 16 Missouri 9-1 in the first game of the Clearwater Invitational for its second consecutive run-rule win. The Noles wasted no time taking the lead in the top of the first behind a single from Isa Torres and walk to Jaysoni Beachum.

Michaela Edenfield blasted a three-run moon shot over the left field wall for a 3-0 lead.

Annabelle Widra started inside the circle for the Noles and allowed a solo home run in the bottom of the frame. However, FSU scored three more runs in the top of the third when Katie Dack and Edenfield had back-to-back hits before Kennedy Harp blasted a three-run home run to make it 6-1.

Harp already has three home runs, and is hitting at a torrid pace. The Noles added two more runs in the top of the fourth behind hits from Isa Torres and an RBI double from Jaysoni Beachum.

Katie Dack hit a solo shot to make it 8-1. The Noles added their final run on a solo home run by Isa Torrest.

Widra went four innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, four strikeouts, and zero walks on 46 pitches. She looks like she will be an integral part of the pitching rotation.

Freshman Jazzy Francik pitched the final two innings, allowing no hits, one walk, with two strikeouts.

The FSU softball offense had four home runs and two doubles out of 12 hits. Isa Torres led the offense, going 3-4 with an RBI. Jaysoni Beachum and Katie Dack went 2-3 with an RBI each. Edenfield went 2-3 with four RBI. Kennedy Harp went 1-3 with two RBI.

It was a great start to the Clearwater Invitational, and FSU will take on Ohio State Friday at 2 p.m. The game will air on the ACC Network.
