Expectations have definitely changed after that massive win

I know folks didn’t want to believe us when we first posted about the season win totals in February, but you could have made some big money! When Fanduel released its win total projections for FSU in February, it had FSU at 7.5 wins.

The under was -118, and the over was -108. That meant if you bet $118 for FSU to win over 7.5 games (eight games), and they won eight, you’d win $100.

Fast forward to a few days after FSU’s huge win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, and my, did things change quickly. The win total on Fanduel is 8.5 wins now, and the over is -136 and the under is +102.

FSU would have to win nine games for the bet to win now, and you’d have to bet $136 to win $100. FSU was a +13.5 betting underdog, so clearly the betting sites expected FSU to lose. However, the odds reflect the favorability in their remaining schedule, which is something I’ve pointed out several times since it was released.

Most of the ACC teams on the schedule are not good, and that got reflected in how some of the teams struggled against teams who are not expected to be good.

FSU should win its next two games for sure, which means they'd only need six more games to win on these updated odds. If you had over 7.5 wins or got the over on 6.5 wins that DraftKings had? You are in a great position to make money on your bet.

FSU jumped No. 14 nationally after starting the season unranked. They could be near a top 10 matchup when Miami rolls to town in a few weeks. It'll be the first time the two teams were ranked inside the top 10 when they faced one another since 2013. No. 3 FSU rolled No. 7 Miami 41-14.

This FSU team looks legit, but it'll be interesting to see if there's any type of letdown against East Texas A&M this weekend.
