FSU football answered every question we had going into the East Texas A&M game on Saturday afternoon. We wondered if they would come out flat against an inferior opponent after a huge upset win over Alabama a week ago.
FSU proceeded to score 21 points in the first quarter and 28 points in the second quarter to take a 49-0 lead at halftime. The offense averaged 10.1 yards per play in the first half and the defense only allowed 2.59 yards per play in the first half. The final score was 77-3.
The game went nearly perfectly, with FSU getting some nice reps for the starters without suffering any injuries, except for Squirrel White. He got injured on a punt return and left the game to go to the locker room and returned to the sidelines with a brace on his arm.
I wrote about the first quarter that Thomas Castellanos and Duce Robinson had here.
Kevin Sperry was the first backup quarterback off the bench, and he looked comfortable in the offense. He was 4 of 5 for 61 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown pass went to fellow freshman Jayvan Boggs, and the second to fellow freshman Ousmane Kromah on a beautiful touch pass out of the backfield.
Brock Glenn got some playing time and was 3 of 3 for 56 yards and a touchdown. Micahi Danzy scored on another reverse play just like last week. Sam Singleton broke off a long 53-yard touchdown run. Gavin Sawchuk has two touchdown runs and got the majority of the carries early in the game.

Defensively, Earl Little Jr. and Jeremiah Wilson had interceptions. East Texas A&M only had 70 total yards at halftime.
East Texas A&M kicked a field goal to get on the board on 4th and goal on the four-yard line when it was 70-0 with 9:32 remaining. A ton of young players and walk-ons got reps to build much-needed depth as the season progresses. Â
