FSU football wasted no time jumping all over the East Texas A&M Lions in the first quarter of Saturday’s game. The Noles used a punishing rushing attack to march down the field on their first touchdown drive to take a 7-0 lead.
The ease with which FSU ran the ball forced the Lions to concentrate more on stopping the run, which opened up the pass, and Thomas Castellanos took advantage.
Castellanos launched a pass to Robinson on the first play of their second offensive possession that went for an 82-yard touchdown. Robinson easily beat the Lions defender and caught the pass in stride for the easy score.

The FSU defense forced another punt, and the offense took the field with 2:55 remaining in the first quarter. Castellanos launched a ball deep to the end zone with Robinson in one-on-one coverage, and Robinson made a crazy one-handed catch even with the defensive player committing pass interference.

Robinson had four receptions in the first quarter for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He nearly had a third touchdown before the first quarter ended, but was stopped one yard short of the goal line.
It was clear that Gus Malzahn wanted to work on the passing game in this quasi-scrimmage game against East Texas A&M. Castellanos only had one incompletion in the quarter on a great thrown pass that went right off of the fingertips of Amaree Williams in the end zone.
We wanted to see if FSU would come out with great energy in the first quarter, and the Noles answered that question in spades. The Noles got an interception by Earl Little Jr. near the end of the first quarter and scored early in the second quarter to make it 28-0 with 14:57 remaining in the second quarter.
