FSU BASEBALL CRUISES TO VICTORY

Florida State baseball started Sunday afternoon with a series-clinching 5-1 victory over the California Golden Bears. This was a difficult series for the Seminoles, who had to battle on the West Coast and have a quick turnaround for the final regular season series finale versus North Carolina at home starting next Thursday, May 15th.

Head baseball coach Link Jarrett certainly had to worry about the Seminoles' mindset heading into the road series. Infielder Alex Lodise makes it look effortless in such a stressful moment in the seventh inning.

Overall, this is a great opportunity for Coach Jarrett and his squad as they look to capture a top-eight national seed with a series win over North Carolina next weekend.

FSU SOFTBALL GETS THE NO. 5 OVERALL SEED

Florida State softball loses heartbreakingly on Saturday afternoon as the Clemson Tigers hit a game-winning two-run home run to secure an ACC Championship Game victory. It was a bummer for a Seminole squad that had high hopes of accomplishing a conference championship.

However, the Lady Noles did not let the disappointment rain on their parade as they earned a No. 5 overall seed, where they will be hosting the Tallahassee Regional with teams such as Robert Morris, South Florida, and Auburn.

They will be taking on the Colonials at 2:30 PM on Friday, May 16th. Joanne Graf Field will be rocking for Florida State as they look to go deep into the NCAA Softball Tournament.

THOUGHTS

It was a productive Sunday for both Florida State baseball and softball. It is time for both programs to take advantage of their moments. Be sure to check out Florida State softball on Friday afternoon before you head over to Dick Howser Stadium that night to see the Seminoles hopefully capture a victory over the Tar Heels.
