He could be a major weapon in certain situations

A college football player who only appeared in four games as a freshman made the College Football Freaks List for 2025. That player is a redshirt freshman, Micahi Danzy, checking in at No. 68 overall.

Danzy signed with FSU in the 2024 recruiting cycle as a four-star athlete. He was the No. 10 athlete nationally and locally in Tallahassee. He came to FSU as a running back but has transitioned to the wide receiver position in the offseason.

That's where his ELITE speed will likely make the biggest impact. Danzy also runs track and field and is already among the best in the ACC.

He had one reception for 38 yards last season.

FSU coaches say he can surpass 24 mph on the GPS technology the players wear at practice. Usain Bolt's average speed when he set the 100 meter world record was 23.35 mph. Obviously, Bolt has better top end speed, that that tells you it's rare air to be at or surpass that speed.

I like the move to wide receiver for Danzy. I always thought his build wasn't suited to play running back. Although, I can see Gus Malzhan using him out of the backfield on jet sweeps or toss plays looking to get to the edge when they find a numbers advantage.

Danzy is probably another year away from becoming a consistent contributor based on the depth in front of him at the position. However, I expect him to make some splash plays here and there when folks least expect it. Hopefully, he's able to get into some contests against lesser opponents to gain some valuable playing experience in 2025.
