The old adage that there are no days off when it comes to recruiting in college football continues to be true as FSU secured a commitment from Class of 2027 tight end Connor Winn this afternoon. Winn, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, is the third verbal in the 2027 class.
This commitment kicks off what could be another big month of recruiting for the Seminoles. The 2026 class is already sitting on the verge of being in the top ten with major announcements coming from top targets over the next few weeks.
Winn was clearly a hard lean to FSU if his X account was any indication. He made a verbal commitment to Rutgers nearly a year ago, but backed away from that commitment in the past week. The tight end has been a regular presence in Tallahassee, participating in FSU prospect camps and 7v7 tournaments over the past month.
The Goal has always been to play football at the highest level. To be able to play my college years in my home state made the decision easy. I am honored to announce my commitment to THE Florida State University. Letβs bring a National Title back to Tally! Go Noles π’π’β¦ pic.twitter.com/ISwo8km28Q

FSU has been focused on restocking the tight end room since going 2-10 last season. Sophomore Landen Thomas is one of the more promising young players on the Seminoles' current roster, and he will be paired with transfers Randy Pittman (UCF) and Markeston Douglas (Arizona State), who is on his second tour with FSU.
The Seminoles have already gotten a commitment from four-star tight end prospect Xavier Tiller in the 2026 recruiting class and are targeting three-star prospect Landen Miree, who is expected to make his announcement on July 11.
As for Winn, he did not play as a sophomore because of a foot injury, but the Jacksonville-area prospect did return to the field in May and had eight catches for 136 yards in his spring game.

FSU recruiting is on an absolute heater and Winn's pledge today continues that momentum going into the next few weeks. It's hard to imagine this would have been the case after FSU stumbled to the finish line of the 2024 season with a 2-10 record, but it's clear that the focus on stronger recruiting at the high school level from Mike Norvell and the new staffers is paying off.
