FSU football coaches have had to overcome several obstacles in building the 2026 recruiting class. The Noles rank No. 14 nationally, with 22 commitments.

The coaching staff recently sent official offer letters to all of the commits and players they were interested in signing for the 2026 season.

One commit the staff has fought to retain is four-star athlete Darryon Williams. The Tampa native is the No. 27 athlete nationally and holds offers from 22 schools.

The rival Florida Gators have tried to flip him over the past year. He took an unofficial visit there in January and officially visited in June before taking his official visit to FSU.

However, it looks like he's locked in with the Noles after a recent post on X following receiving his official offer letter:

"Almost home, big things coming," and tagging the FSU coaches is an encouraging sign that Williams will stick to his FSU pledge and sign with the good guys in December. Williams is listed as an athlete, but FSU views him as a wide receiver. He is a smaller guy with a frame similar to Rashad Greene.

Williams also runs track in high school and has sub-11 speed in the 100 meters. He can play on special teams also as a return man.

This social media post doesn't specifically say he's shutting his recruitment down, but I think it's safe to say he's locked in with the Noles as long as the season doesn't fall off a cliff like last year. Williams is the type of receiver who could do damage with his speed in Gus Malzahn's offense. Several other guys in the class have shut down their recruitment, so it's good to see this class stay together after such a disappointing season last year.
