FSU football: Why Luke Kromenhoek should continue to get more reps
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football looks like it will have a full-on quarterback battle in the final three games of 2024. Redshirt freshman Brock Glenn became the starting quarterback when DJ Uiagalelei broke his finger against SMU. Glenn had a solid game in his first start against a good Clemson defense.
However, he regressed greatly in his next start against Duke, turning the ball over three times, ultimately costing FSU the win. True freshman, Luke Kromenhoek played 14 snaps against Duke.
The game clearly was moving too fast for Kromenhoek, but he uncorked a couple of nice throws that caught your attention. He played well enough that FSU head coach Mike Norvell put him into the game on FSU's third offensive possession against Miami, and he promptly led them on a 12-play touchdown scoring drive.
We didn't see Brock Glenn again until FSU's final two possessions, and he managed to take FSU down the field against some Miami reserve players to throw a touchdown pass near the end of the game.
The offense seemed to operate better with Kromenhoek, who got at least one first down on three consecutive possessions that ultimately ended in a turnover on downs. FSU had eight possessions, four with each quarterback, so let's look at the production.
