Short roads now...

FSU football has had 20 players exit the program via the transfer portal, with 11 additions through the end of December.

FSU coaches have already shed much dead weight from the roster, freeing spots for talented guys with production who can impact in 2025 and beyond. They addressed every pressing need but will be in the spring transfer market to acquire more talent and depth at specific positions.

Several players already have visits set for FSU in the first week of January, and FSU coaches will need to work quickly to finalize these last spring additions.

FSU Spring classes begin on Monday, January 6th, and the final day to add a class WITHOUT an academic dean's permission is Thursday, January 9th.

FSU could potentially add players after that date, but they'd prefer to have everyone enrolled before then to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming transfers. It's likely why we see so many visits set for the first week in January.

Mike Norvell has added some of his best portal additions in the first week of January. Having that short window with guys on campus provides some leverage with players who have a major interest in signing with the Noles. Especially those who may have plans to visit other schools afterwards.

I expect the coaches to be aggressive in the acquisitions they think they need/want the most. It wouldn't surprise me to see those guys announce commitments shortly after their visits conclude. If we see guys visit and leave to take visits elsewhere, they'll likely go elsewhere, with the short time frame to get everything moved to their new destination and classes starting.
