Florida State football recently fired offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans. I will never throw coaches under the bus, even after their tenure with the Seminoles.

However, head football coach Mike Norvell seems to have wanted to set the standard at Florida State. This program is a top-fifteen in college football. The Seminoles have a 1-9 record. This is not Kennesaw State or Kent State. It is difficult to even fathom how it became this bad.

That said, Norvell is tasked with turning around the program once again. It could be even harder this time than it was when Florida State had its historic loss to FCS opponent Jacksonville State in 2021, and I never thought that was possible.

With the firings of Atkins, Fuller, and Dugans, I wondered how it would impact the recruits who are currently committed to the program. The Seminoles added two new prospects in three-star defensive ends Mantrell and Darryll Desir from Miami Norland High School in Miami, Florida, recently.

Four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph from Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia spoke out about Atkins being fired.

It seems like Coach Atkins was an important piece in Joseph's life. It is understandable to be upset when an individual who has been recruiting him gets relieved of his duties. The talented offensive lineman locked down his recruitment with the Seminoles. We will see if that is still the case in the coming days.

However, four-star offensive lineman commit Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida, also speaks on Atkins getting fired.

Thomas went in a different direction with his post on social media where he stated that the program messed up by firing Atkins. The offensive lineman was visited his fair share of schools while being committed to Florida State.

In my opinion, the Thomas post is more worrisome. However, I think there is a solid chance that they could both stick around.
