FSU football: Top 7 most interesting stats through two games

Florida State football has rejuvenated this fan base, unlike anything we’ve seen after a season like last year. There are many negative adjectives I could use to describe last year, and do the exact opposite for the positives through two games.

I expected success early in the season, but not like this, and I’m probably one of the most optimistic people covering the program over the last decade.

I pointed to all the signs in December, as to why Mike Norvell should be able to turn things around quicker than it took him when he first arrived in Tallahassee.

I know it was hard for folks to get past last season. However, as quickly as things went south, I knew it was possible to right the ship fairly quickly IF Mike Norvell did what he needed to do. It’s a small sample size, but I trust what I’ve seen through two games.


I don’t expect these numbers to remain what they are as the sample size increases, but I don’t expect them to fall off of a cliff for a few reasons.

As I’ve consistently pointed out, the 2025 FSU schedule isn’t THAT difficult. FSU has more talent than most of the teams on the schedule and better coaches. Here are the seven more interesting stats from this team through two games.
