FSU football: Score prediction/analysis for Florida State versus North Carolina
Florida State football will take on North Carolina at 3:30 PM EST on Saturday in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles are trying to salvage any kind of good feelings for the remainder of the year as they possess a 1-7 record.
The losses have been heartbreaking. Many fans have been clamoring for a youth movement, and the results are still the same. It is unfortunate since this team accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023.
Florida State's offense has been absolutely abysmal this year where they have only score at least 21 points once this season where it came in their season opener versus Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland.
Head football coach Mike Norvell was regarded as one of the best offensive minds in college football. However, whether the offense has had DJ Uiagalelei, Brock Glenn, or Luke Kromenhoek, it has not mattered.
Could Norvell be a product of Jordan Travis, who has been the most successful in his system?
That could be a question for another day, but seeing a team fall from grace so hard has been disappointing. However, North Carolina has been a work in progress this year where they have been beatable. The Tar Heels even allowed James Madison to score 70 points on their defense.
If that doesn't give Seminole fans a little confidence that Florida State can score over 20 points, then I don't know what will. Florida State will try not to allow North Carolina head football coach Mack Brown to get his first coaching win versus the Seminoles.
It has been a year of firsts for Florida State in 2024, where they have started the season with the worst record this the 1970s, lost to Duke for the first time in program history, and could potentially allow Mack Brown to get his first-ever win versus the program as well.
Here is another edition of the ChopChat staff score predictions:
Taylor Devers: 27-20 UNC
Kelvin Hunt: 24-20 FSU
Kelvin and I went in a different direction. However, if the football gods are listening, I need the reverse psychology to happen and allow Florida State to get a victory on Saturday afternoon.
