FSU football coaches have been on fire in the Winter Transfer Portal window, adding 15+ players to replace the 20+ players who exited the program via the same method.

The impact of the new coaching hires can't be understated, and their relationships could impact some remaining unsigned players in the 2025 recruiting class.

One is unsigned four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown. The one-time commit to Gus Malzahn and Herb Hand at UCF de-committed shortly after Malzahn announced his move to be the FSU offensive coordinator. He's the No. 333 player nationally and No. 28 offensive tackle, hailing from Warner Robbins, Georgia.

Brown has been watching how the Noles have been working on the recruiting trail, posting this on social media after FSU landed a big-time offensive line commit:

Assistant Director of Player Personnel DJ Daniels made a reference to a popular song from Tallahassee artist Lul Tyler, and Brown finished the lyrics with some interesting emojis afterward.

We have to be careful not to read too much into things on social media, but all the signs are there for FSU to pick up one of the better remaining unsigned players in the 2025 high school ranks at a position they must continue to throw numbers toward. Brown has a great frame and excellent length and could be a player with a year or two of development under his belt.

I expect FSU to add a few more high school players on National Signing Day on February 5th, and Brown would be a target. He never took an official visit to FSU, so that'll be something to look for over the next month.
