FSU football: Noles are 3-point road underdogs to the Duke Blue Devils
Florida State football has been vastly disappointing this year as they have a 1-5 record with losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, SMU, and Clemson.
This is something that Seminole fans did not expect as Florida State accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023. However, with several new faces, the Seminoles are struggling to find consistency in their play.
Florida State will now look to get back on track as they will face against the Duke Blue Devils on the road Friday night. I don't want to jinx the Seminoles' efforts of winning a football game, but Florida State has been very successful versus Duke. They do not want to disappoint in this one.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Seminoles open as 3-point underdogs for the road matchup. The Blue Devils are coming off their first loss of the year against Georgia Tech by a score of 24-14.
The Seminoles are also coming off a loss versus Clemson. Both teams have two weeks to prepare for each other after the bye week. Individuals view this 2024 season as a failure.
However, the narrative is starting to be a bit more optimistic given that the coaching staff has emphasized a youth movement with quarterback Brock Glenn and tight ends Landen Thomas and Amaree Williams.
I am not suggesting that Florida State should be favored in the matchup simply because the youth movement is in full effect, but it does give fans something to look forward to.
Duke has not played a murder's row of opponents as they have victories over Elon, Northwestern, UConn, Middle Tennessee, and North Carolina. This could speak to why Duke is only three-point favorites. Nonetheless, this could be a massive win for the Seminoles' confidence (I cannot believe that I am speaking like that for a possible win over Duke, but here we are...).
