FSU football looks to be zeroing in on this talented SEC commit

This would be a nice get for the Seminoles' recruiting class.

FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football currently has the 13th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles want to finish for the first time in the top ten during the Mike Norvell era.

This is something that the Seminoles have wanted to make a major focus on, since the narrative has been that Florida State only excels in getting transfers instead of homegrown high school prospects.

Florida State has a pivotal matchup with Pittsburgh this Saturday at noon in Doak Campbell Stadium that it needs to win. However, they have to make a good impression on high school recruits to ensure that they have long-term sustainability.

ARKANSAS COMMIT ON THE WAY

Florida State has had its fair share of disappointments on the recruiting trail. However, they have managed to have backup plans in the transfer portal (minus the 2024 season) to counteract the negative news.

As it stands, the Seminoles hosted several talented prospects on campus this summer. Most high schoolers wanted to commit to the school of their choice before their senior seasons, which is understandable, given that the transfer portal period is in January.

This makes it more difficult for the youngsters because they don't want to lose their spots in the class. One prospect that visited over the summer is Class of 2026 three-star linebacker/safety Daylen Green from Gadsden County High School in Havana, Florida.

Green visited on the weekend of June 1st to the Seminoles, and then Noles247's Zach Blostein placed a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State. The program was thought to be the leader for the local prospect.

However, the coaching staff didn't close the deal in the recruitment, as Green decided to officially visit Arkansas and immediately committed to the Razorbacks. Arkansas's season has gone down the drain, and head football coach Sam Pittman has been fired. The Seminoles' staff has brought the communication back up with the talented defender.

Green recorded 111 tackles during the 2024 season. Florida State was the "dream school" for the defender growing up, so this should be a situation where the program gets involved again with him.
