FSU football legacy recruit back on the market after de-commitment from Ohio State

Would be a nice addition to the 2026 class.

FSU football coaches have a little momentum on the recruiting trail after blowing out Wake Forest Saturday night. They got a commitment from former Georgia Tech defensive end commit Chris Carbin on Sunday and flipped a linebacker commit from Arkansas on Monday.

It’s possible FSU could receive more good news at a major position of need. FSU legacy and three-star offensive line recruit Aaron Thomas announced his de-commitment from Ohio State on Monday.

Thomas is the son of a former FSU player, Eric Thomas, who played at FSU in the mid to late 90s. Thomas plays offensive tackle at 6’7 and 290 pounds. He plays high school football in Phoenix, Arizona, and took an official visit to FSU in June after receiving an offer in April.

That was a little late in the process, but FSU has been working to get Thomas in the fold. He took an unofficial visit to campus for the Miami game in early October.

Thomas previously took official visits to Washington and Texas A&M. We'll see how it shakes out, but FSU coaches look to maximize the positive vibes around the program.

The numbers suggest FSU is much improved over a year ago. The four losses have all been by eight points or less. A win over Clemson on Saturday night would go a long way to proving FSU continues to head in the right direction.

Herb Hand has done a solid job recruiting the position, and Thomas would be the fourth offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class.
