FSU football lands commitment from 2025 blue-chip OL Mario Nash Jr.

FSU football lost a 2025 blue-chip commitment earlier Thursday night when Daylan McCutcheon flipped to Texas. However, less than two hours later, the Noles landed a commitment from 2025 blue-chip OL Mario Nash Jr.
The Mississippi native is a former Mississippi State commitment who de-committed after visiting the Noles last week for an official visit for the Clemson game. Nash ranks as the No. 279 player overall, the No. 14 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 10 player in Mississippi. He is 6'4" and 280 pounds. He's the third offensive lineman in the 2025 class, joining blue-chip players Solomon Thomas and Peyton Joseph.
Nash took official visits to Clemson, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and LSU. He received predictions to Ole Miss before this commitment to FSU, so it'll be interesting to see if he sticks if FSU continues to struggle to win games in 2024.
Would the offensive line haul be enough to keep Alex Atkins after the 2024 season? The offensive line is among the worst nationally. FSU has zero running game, and Alex Atkins hasn't developed one offensive lineman over the past four years.
The next six games in the second half of the season will likely determine his future, and FSU needs major improvements. They average 14.8 ppg and 4.52 yards per play. FSU averages 2.16 yards per carry, which is by far the lowest in the Mike Norvell era.
FSU has 11 commitments, and this new addition improves its ranking from No. 52 to No. 37 nationally.
