The 2024 FSU football season will arguably be the most disappointing in recent history. FSU has one win in nine games and can only hope to match the three wins posted in the nine-game COVID-shortened 2020 season, the first in the Mike Norvell era. FSU must win two of its next three games against Notre Dame, Charleston Southern, and rival Florida to reach three wins.

They are 26-point underdogs against Notre Dame, and FSU fans are legitimately worried they might lose to Charleston Southern. They'll likely lose against the Florida Gators, even though they are on their third starting quarterback because of injuries.

FSU is missing the leadership that helped it go on a 23-4 run after losing 13 of its first 21 games under Mike Norvell. A big part of that leadership was former quarterback Jordan Travis and he seems to have an idea of what's missing at FSU. He posted on his social media account on Thursday:

Travis posted the message in the midst of rumors floating around commits likely de-committing and going elsewhere. He's right, it's up to the players to buy in and hold one another accountable. This 2024 FSU team isn't led by the players, and that's one of the biggest differences between this year and the past two. FSU lost 10+ players to the NFL, but they are still more talented than nearly every team they've lined up against this year. Yet, this team can't get everyone to row in the same direction for a common goal to save its life. When Mike Norvell first arrived at FSU, he correctly identified it was not a player-led team and helped change the culture until it was. Now, he'll have to do it again if he wants to find success at FSU before getting fired in a year or two.
