FSU football: Former Seminole players dominate the Week 9 NFL slate
Florida State football was defeated by the North Carolina Tar Heels by a score of 35-11 on Saturday afternoon. Many individuals have viewed the Seminoles' program as a laughing stock, and the fan base has given up on the 2024 campaign for good reason.
Former Florida State football players have made their impact felt across the NFL landscape.
Let's start with defensive end Jared Verse and defensive tackle Braden Fiske as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks in overtime by a score of 26-20. The organization should feel wonderful as both defenders have made their presence felt.
Fiske was even rewarded with the game ball for his performance against the Seahawks.
Florida State University continues to produce solid contributors in the NFL. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman and Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey battled in the red zone. Coleman bobbled the pass attempt, and Ramsey came away with the interception.
There has been publicity surrounding the Keon Coleman-Ron Dugans situation throughout the week. The fan base has been through a lot, so I will try to keep this piece as positive as I can.
Next, we turn to former Florida State running back Trey Benson getting his first NFL touchdown with the Arizona Cardinals. The coaching staff took a chance on Benson in the transfer portal, and he delivered for the Seminoles during his two years in Tallahassee.
Lastly, I want to highlight former Florida State defensive end Josh Sweat's sack for the Eagles in their matchup versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sweat has seemed to defy the odds after his horrific injury.
Florida State University continues to be a talking point in the NFL. If teams take a chance on the prospects in the draft, it seems like the former Seminole players blossom into productive pieces to a roster.
