Freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek got his first career start on Saturday against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, leading the Noles to their second win with a 41-7 victory.

The FSU offense has been dreadful all year, and this game was the first time they surpassed 21 points and 300 total yards on offense. It helped that Charleston Southern is a dreadful team in their own right, coming into the game with a 1-10 record.

However, FSU was -33 point betting favorites, and covered the spread easily, aside from a slight scare in the final minute of the game when they failed to recover a pooch kickoff from the Buccaneers.

FSU finished the game with 413 total yards on offense and converted six of 10 third-down conversions. The latter is double the conversion percentage FSU had going into the game.

Does the start for Kromenhoek put the writing on the wall for redshirt freshman Brock Glenn? Possibly, considering Mike Norvell didn't pull Kromenhoek from the game until FSU's final offensive possession. How Mike Norvell handles next week likely tells us all we need to know.

If Kromenhoek is the guy moving forward, there were several positive takeaways from his first career start.
