FSU football has already equaled its win total from a year ago through two games. The Noles clobbered East Texas A&M, 77-3, on Saturday and answered nearly every question we had after the upset win over Alabama.
It has been refreshing to watch FSU thus far; the starters play with relentless effort, and we got to see the reserve players offer the same effort in mop-up duty on Saturday. The coolest thing is watching the starters celebrate on the sidelines, as the reserve players make plays.
The change in this team hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Florida State fan base. The engagement on this website and on social media during the games is among the best I’ve seen in quite some time. Check out some of the posts on social media after Saturday’s performance.

This team is much different than last year and better in some areas than the 2023 team that went undefeated in the regular season. I’ve seen enough in two games to determine that. The offensive line is night and day better than 2023, and the running game is more consistent. We’ll have to see about the wide receivers, but the tight ends are better. If Thomas Castellanos continues his willingness to use his legs? This offense will be better than 2023 overall.
Can the 2025 defense be better than the 2023 defense as a whole? It’s possible they could surpass them, but I’m not ready to make that call yet. That part doesn’t matter as much because the offense has the potential for a much higher ceiling if they stay healthy.
I have to keep throwing that caveat out there because we don't know what the depth is like with certain units. However, the offensive line reserves didn't look half bad on Saturday, and that's a huge positive.
