FSU football could be getting back a couple of injured players this week versus UVA

Could we see these injured players at the Virginia game?

FSU FOOTBALL

Florida State football finished a dominant performance versus Kent State this past Saturday, where it won by a score of 66-10. The Seminoles will now be entering a contest against the Virginia Cavaliers in a treacherous Friday night road game on ESPN.

This gives the fan base a sense of worry, since Virginia is capable of putting up a high amount of points on any team. Plus, the Seminoles will be taking on arch-rival Miami Hurricanes, so this could serve as a "look-ahead" spot for the squad.

Florida State is a top-ten team that should be capable of handling the adversity, but DraftKings Sportsbook has the Seminoles listed as 7.5-point road favorites against Virginia. Maybe we should write about Florida State coming out "flat" after this game, too, for reverse psychology.

INJURED PLAYERS

Quarterback Thomas Castellanos escaped an injury scare right before the rain delay in the second quarter as he got rolled up on by a Golden Flashes defender. Castellanos mentioned after the game that he was 100% healthy and there was nothing to worry about.

The Seminoles should have the former UCF and Boston College transfer under center on Friday, but what about the other injured players?

Head football coach Mike Norvell alluded to the fact that wide receiver Squirrel White, tight end Randy Pittman Jr., and defensive tackle Kevin Wynn could be back during ACC play. White was seen warming up, but he did not record a statistic.

The offense had wide receiver Lawayne McCoy back this week against Kent State, where he recorded two receptions for 30 yards. We could see a similar impact from White and Pittman Jr. when they return to ease them back into the lineup.

Then Wynn would be a perfect complement with Darrell Jackson Jr. at defensive tackle. The former four-star prospect was the Seminoles' highest-rated recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite.

With Miami and Georgia Tech being two talented teams in the conference, the Seminoles have no time to waste with playing their talented players on the roster if their health can hold up.
