We’re already through three weeks in the 2025 college football season, and my goodness, the preseason narratives shifted. The ACC has four undefeated teams remaining, FSU is one of them, and Virginia is one half away from an undefeated record.
Clemson looks like a shell of itself, and the ACC could get what it wanted when the Miami Hurricanes joined the ACC over 20 years ago; that’s Miami and FSU among the elite teams playing one another in a high-stakes game if FSU gets past Virginia on Friday night.

FSU is the slight favorite to win the ACC, followed by Georgia Tech and Miami. Georgia Tech has a very manageable ACC slate the rest of the way, with its win over Clemson. FSU has a more difficult path, and Miami could Miami no matter who they have on the schedule with Mario Cristobal as its head coach.
Here are my updated ACC Power Rankings through four weeks:
- FSU (3-0)
- Miami (4-0)
- Louisville (3-0)
- Georgia Tech (4-0)
- Virginia (3-1) +3
- Syracuse (3-1) +7
- Duke (2-2) +7
- SMU (2-2) -3
- NC State (3-1) -3
- California (3-1) -3
- Pittsburgh (2-1) -1
- Wake Forest (2-1) -1
- Clemson (1-3) -2
- North Carolina (2-2)
- Stanford (1-3)
- Boston College (1-2)
- Virginia Tech (1-3)
We saw some movement in that second tier in the ACC in week four. We’ll see if Virginia is legit when they host FSU on Friday night. FSU is near a touchdown betting favorite on the road. Louisville will travel to Pittsburgh as both teams were on a bye week in week four. Miami is on a bye week and the rest of the mediocre ACC teams will play in fairly meaningless games.
All eyes will be on ESPN on Friday night for the FSU vs. Virginia matchup at 7 p.m.
