The Syracuse vs. Clemson game was one of the top non-FSU ACC games we told fans to check out on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers were thought to be one of the tougher opponents on the 2025 schedule for the Noles, but they haven’t looked like it through three games.

Syracuse hasn’t looked great this season either, especially on defense, so it was a good barometer to see if Clemson could get it together.

The first half would say Clemson is a fraud team as they trail 24-14 at halftime. Syracuse has been the more physical team, rushing for 123 yards in the first half. They already have over 300 yards of total offseason in Death Valley.

Clemson’s offense continues to look dysfunctional, and they are fortunate that the deficit isn’t bigger; however, they scored a touchdown with about one minute remaining in the second quarter.

Clemson will receive the ball first in the second half, and it will be imperative for their offense to get points. FSU fans seem to believe Clemson isn’t anywhere near the threat to FSU we once thought after the last few games and that first half.

I’m not going to count Clemson out in his game yet. I’ve watched Syracuse go life and death with some teams with way less talent earlier this season. If Clemson can score a touchdown and get the crowd back into it, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Clemson find a way to win. However, if they lose this game, it’ll be interesting to see the reaction from the Clemson faithful. Dabo Swinney threw down the gauntlet recently, basically daring anyone to challenge what they have accomplished. However, it’s also a what have you done for me lately world. Frankly, Clemson hasn’t been among the elite in nearly five years.
